The Australian government has admitted to having faked the polling data about responses to their National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) which is the equivalent of the USDA’s NAIS in this country. Apparently the Australian program is not as great as our US government would have us believe:
MLA apologizes for hacking poll
Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) has been forced to apologize, after two staff members hacked into an Internet poll on the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS).
The Rural Press poll asked readers to rate the performance of the system to trace animals from birth to death.
Early poll results showed more than 60 per cent of voters described NLIS as poor or terrible.
But a day later, after tampering by MLA staff, the poll showed 70 per cent believed the system was good or excellent.
MLA’s managing director, David Palmer, says the staff involved have not been sacked.
He concedes the organization’s credibility is on the line.
“This is a very damaging moment. I take it very seriously, the company takes it very seriously, the board equally are most alarmed and shocked by it,” he said.
“We will take all steps and measures to set us down a track to try to win back that integrity and win back that credibility that we just so desperately need from industry.”
A long-time critic of NLIS, the Australian Beef Association, says the incident does nothing to boost the credibility of electronic identification.
It says the incident backs its claims the system can be easily corrupted.
Chairwoman Linda Hewitt says Mr Palmer should immediately sack the MLA staff involved.
“Possibly the man did not know what was going on, possibly he is very embarrassed, but he certainly needs to take very strong action straight away,” she said.
“We will be keeping an eye on the situation.
“We will be putting press releases out about how we expect the whole situation to be handled and we will be questioning the integrity of the MLA’s checking of itself.”
Consulting firm Ernst and Young will complete an investigation in the hacking incident by early next week.

A little while ago we had a terrorist threat from the USDA right here on http://NoNAIS.org. More recently there were the unconstitutional raids and slaughter of livestock on two farms in Virginia by the USDA and Virginia authorities. In Maine the Fish & Wildlife stole long established fish from inside the aquarium of a prominent Chinese restaurant and then gave them to a pet store that offered to, and eventually did, sell them back to the restaurant owner for $700. Apparently they have no concept of private ownership, the Bill of Rights or our Constitution
And the government wonders why their trust rating is slipping so fast…

Puhleeze……………
It just keeps getting worse. Where are the law suits? Where are the attorneys with a little intestinal fortitude? Where are the voters?
Our government is so drunk with power and control that even a Kristal Nacht would not surprize me anymore. Of course the victims would be farmers and homesteaders rather than jews but the idea seems to be about the same. Destroy honest, hard working people just because you can.
Stealing fish and then reselling them to their rightful owners? Was the owner of the pet shop a family member of one of the thieves who needed money?
The Gestapo has arrived in the United States of America!!!!! Just have different uniforms.

Remember that oldie: Keep you eye on the bouncing ball”? Keep your eye on our Aussie friends. They are not a mere government doing the global animal ID implementation, they are much, much more! You might even say they are one of the three key players. More to come, soon.

And just how are these fish “safer for the environment” in a pet store??

The same corporation that made the Rhode Island’s governmental state data base (which has been hacked) also composed the one Maine uses. By and large Maine’s database has many more problems than just being at risk for hacking as it so often doesn’t work. Incidentally, it’s against state law to own a peacock in Maine. Would I trust Maine’s database security to maintain my privacy under NAIS? Never. Not in this or any other lifetime…and I’d trust the US federal government less. As for commercial corporate databases being given all our information garnered under NAIS, all we know for sure is our information would be sliced and diced and sold and resold every possible way profitable. NAIS is unthinkable and unsafe at any speed.

PA Morgantown Meeting 10/17/06
I was there, and in spite of PDA’s presentation where they claim premise ID in PA is separate from the NAIS, they didn’t fool anyone there. Even if PA’s intentions are benevolent, USDA’s aren’t, and I said as much to them. What was kind of funny though, was at the beginning of the meeting when introductions were made, they were quick to point out that they were from PDA and not USDA. They are quite aware of how angry most farmers are with the USDA.
I hope the USDA moles on this list are aware that American farmers have lost all trust and confidence in them. USDA should be gutted as a useless organization because they only answer to big business’s needs.

Barbara, Don’t forget the USDA is playing the smeantics game, In essence the are correct, The Premise ID is separate (sort of) from animal ID but they will use the two. (You can’t get animal ID w/o Premise ID. The crux of Premise ID ID is that they want access to our property and possibly eliminiation of property ownership altogether…unless you are a compliant person, that is. If you go the way of compliance-you beome part of the global village. The goal is drivin or transforming her to the *new* sustainable, value-added farm..

I agree. I don’t think the PDA has thought that far ahead about it though. They are looking at premise ID with a very narrow viewpoint and when we told them it was part and parcel of NAIS, they couldn’t refute that. I don’t think they realize the global implications though (with the exception of trade).
And speaking of semantics, I made a point of stating at the meeting that the USDA has redefined “voluntary, grass fed and organic”. They didn’t refute that either.

Well Walter this is almost scary but here goes.Folks,I have good news for all, but especially those of you in Pa.
SB 865 is “DEAD”!
No, I’m not kidding. You know me better than that by now.
I recieved an email from a local rep that had expressed interest and outrage at NAIS earlier in the year and had agreed to help in any way she could. Well, on Tue. 17 she sent me an email saying that she had talked to the house ag/rural affairs people and they told her that SB 865 would not make it to the floor for a vote (effectivly killing it, because in Pa if a bill doesn’t get to the floor it is scrapped at the end of the session),well the session ends Monday 23,so that would seem to be that.I was not sure what to make of all this as I have heard a rumor or two that SB 865 was in trouble but I wanted to confirm it before I said anything, I called Rep Scott Hutchinson who has been a big help and asked for his confirmation. Well this morming after several other calls his sec. Kim spoke to me and said that Scott talked to Art Hershey and that he wanted me to know it was for real, Art told him that too many folks had expressed objections and that he wanted me to know it will not get out of committie this session. This buys us some time to fight this NAIS,true SB865 will probably be reintroduced in some form in the future but maybe then we will have more imput and have more say into any future legislation and be able to slap it down before it gets shoved down our throats, I was told that we couldn’t stop this thing, that it was a done deal,to which I responded that those bigshots just might be suprised well, suprise! Pa has been issueing premise id to folks for over a year, they were so confident that this bill would pass,I belive it is now time to call them on their behavior ,all those id numbers do not have a basis in law or statute, nothing! Seems to me that makes them invalid, not that any unconstitutional law would do anything to make them more legitimate, but they really don’t have anything to stand on. Lets not back off in this fight, this is a good thing but it is far from over, this does go to show that “we” can stop the govicorp this victory along with Vermonts recent one should help us all realize that we can do this and we will do this, keep contacting yor reps, keep passing out papers and fliers and talking to people, everyone of you count in this fight and every one of you can help effect the outcome, I hope this shows some of you that we can effect the way things are going and that you will be encouraged to speak out at the polls and anywhere else that you can, won’t help? how will you know if you don’t try? I mean it wasn’t very long ago it looked like this “SoB” 865 was going to be passed overwelmingly and that we would have to live with it,well, things they are a changing, thanks to all of you!
please take time to thank Art Hershey and Scott Hutchinson for their help! thanks! ( Scott- 814 677- 6363)

North Dakota has implemented additional health certificate requirements for the import of breeding animals into the state. The tests take as long as two weeks for results, but those results must be current within 30 days of the animal’s blood draw and his entering the state. That leaves only a two week window if a person is relying on a trucking service to haul your purchase from out-of-state. I can see this making it increasingly difficult for responsible breeders to maintain and improve their stock. I don’t know how the AI system works, but our nearest vet with that kind of expertise is 85 miles from here.
Also, found this frightening bit of mandate while looking through the ND State Vet info.

So, your neighbor or the county wants your land or has a grudge…?
Do other states have this requirement?
